Neonatal surgery is a highly specialized division of Pediatric surgery which is concerned with surgeries performed over newborns for various congenital anomalies and birth defects. Practicing surgeons exclusively focusing on neonates, infants in the first 28 days after birth, are called Neonatal surgeons, and heavily coordinate with a hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Neonatal surgeons often perform corrective surgeries, including chest, abdominal, and urological defects.
